Notes: Gouken is basically the core of all of Lee's abilities, with a few exceptions. Everything he's built up, for the most part, relies on his skills with Gouken to function, so this is a very important, basic skill for him to have.
Gouken is a taijutsu, or hand-to-hand, style that is characterized primarily by high speed and agility, circular motions, and direct attacks. Practitioners focus on attacks that will cause their opponents bones and body to break with even a single good hit. As a result, when using Gouken, Lee is almost constantly in motion, using both grounded and aerial attacks while circling around his opponent to inflict damage. Unlike most other taijutsu styles, Gouken is a solely physical style, meaning that it depends on the physical conditioning of Lee to be properly used. The faster he can go, the more effective it is.
When using this, you can basically expect Lee to be very acrobatic, including doing flips and twists and curling in to a ball. The style places a heavy emphasis on kicks for power, typically involving spinning kicks. Circling around is also a feature, as is ducking low or jumping in to mid-air. Constant motion and attacks are the name of the game. This isn't a martial arts style in the most typical sense: there aren't really katas or anything like that, just attacking and speed. It does have a few special techniques, but those are reserved for their own skill slots.
It should be noted that Lee is, for all intents and purposes, a master at this style. He's practiced it for a good four years, canonly, and has only gotten better with it as time has passed. As a style, it has a lot of strengths, but it does have a few weak points. Most glaringly is that it's incredibly direct - there are no tricks or anything, just powerful attacks aimed exactly where they end up. It uses speed to make up for this, hoping to overwhelm an opponent and their defenses, but it can be defended against by a quicker opponents.

Memory: Rescue Gaara – v. Kisame

Notes: Team Gai is on its way to Sunagakure to assist Team Kakashi with rescuing Gaara. One of Kakashi's nindogs, Pakkun, finds them and decides to lead them towards Akatsuki's base instead. Before they can get there, they are intercepted by Hoshigaki Kisame and forced to engage him. Kisame attacks quickly and singles out Gai as they all evade, but Lee parries the blow and Neji uses Hakke Kuushou to blow Kisame back. Tenten attempts to follow up with an explosion, but it fails. Gai follows up by knocking his sword away and the team attempt to attack, but Kisame traps them using Water Clones and a Water Prison. It then becomes a one-on-one fight between Gai and Kisame, with Gai using a set of nunchaku to counter Kisame's blade. While Kisame's freakish strength surprises Gai and he uses water techniques to limited effects, Gai quickly ends things by opening the Sixth Gate and using Asa Kujaku. In the meantime, Neji frees Tenten and Lee from the prisons and they observe the fight, recognizing the technique. The memory ends with them realizing that they didn't fight Kisame himself, but an extremely advanced clone of him.

Summary: It is the preliminary bout of the Third Chuunin Exam and Lee has been watching a series of bouts. As it turns out, his teammate, Neji, is matched up against his cousin, Hyuuga Hinata. There is a long history of strife within the Hyuuga clan because of their bloodline limit - the Byakugan. Neji is probably the most talented ninja to come out of the clan in a generation, but he is a member of the branch family and seems to hold some resentment to Hinata. Up above, Lee is watching, along with Gai, Kakashi, Naruto, and Sakura. The two of them explain both the situation within the clan as well as the extent of the Hyuuga Clan's abilities, as well as how they differ from their own.
Down below, Neji and Hinata fight. It turns out to be exactly the mismatch everyone feared it would be. Neji easily overpowers Hinata and it's obvious to everyone that she's lost. Amid the fighting, though, Naruto yells out encouragement to Hinata that causes her to fight on. Her words and determination provoke Neji into a blind rage. He intends to land a killing blow, but the assembled Jounin from Konoha, sans Asuma, stop him. In the confusion, Naruto charges Neji with the intent to attack him there, but Lee stops him and tells him that the fighting should happen within the matches and the definitive match that will prove whether a failure can defeat a genius with enough hard work has yet to come. Lee concludes that it may be he that faces Neji, but he will not be upset if it is Naruto. Naruto responds by making a promise in blood that Neji is going down.
